HARTFORD, CT (2007-08-10) In the late 1980s, the Band Living Colour broke onto the national scene with a look and a sound that was different from anything else happening in rock n' roll. They were a heavy metal band with lots of hair--and there plenty of those--Living Colour was different. All four members were black, and they had a real musical pedigree--playing jazz, funk, metal and soul, while their contemporaries seemed to be little more than hairspray and spandex.
